About Us

Society has always taught us that when you ‘come of age’ you're considered an adult. However, the grown.grown brand is for people whose experiences have catapulted them into adulthood.

The humble beginnings of grown.grown began after several life changing events. In 2019, I was a wife, a mother, a homeowner, was working in my career for two decades, running a non-profit organization, and handling all realms of business matters. You know, just living the usual adult life. 

Then it all happened…

Within a few months, my family experienced the loss of two vital family members. With their passing, I had to help plan and prepare for two funerals, become the guardian of a disabled family member, be the executor of an estate, and do other tasks that I didn’t even know I was capable of doing; all while still being a wife, a mother, a homeowner, working full time, running a non-profit, and still handling all my other commitments. Just when I thought that life was starting to get back to normal and settle down a bit, here comes COVID-19, a global pandemic that changed the world around us. I was mandated to work from home, isolated from loved ones, witnessed the loss of lives, prevented from properly paying our respects to families, the economy diminished and on many days, so did my spirit. 

In July of 2020, I received a dreaded phone call at 2am, a parent’s worst nightmare. My 25 y/o son was in a motorcycle accident and had sustained life threatening injuries. After multiple surgeries, spending over a month in the hospital and returning home with physical therapy, thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery.
 

During the most challenging times, I would often joke and say, “I thought I was grown before, but now it's official, I’m grown.grown!” 

Those difficult times forced me to stretch myself further than I knew to be possible. I became braver than I believed and stronger than I seemed. And just when I thought I had no more to give, I found the strength to persevere and keep going. It’s easy to be strong during the good times, but your character truly shows by the way you navigate through the rough times. My tests became my testimony.

The grown.grown brand embodies

It’s a reminder that the tough situations didn’t break you, but made you stronger. It’s our message to the world that it is our experiences that define us, not our age. 

This is a lifestyle and a movement for people who have overcome adversities.
